From HTML to AI, building modern web solutions with clean code and innovative approaches.
Author of fiction and non-fiction, bridging languages and cultures with precise translation and compelling storytelling.
Hi, I’m Lubomir Polascin — a Medical Doctor, Nephrologist, and Internal Medicine Specialist by profession, a Fiction and Non-Fiction Writer by calling, and a Self-Taught Programmer by passion.
My work rests at the intersection of medicine, storytelling, and technology. Medicine sharpens my clinical precision; writing lets me explore the human condition through fiction and non-fiction; and technology empowers me to solve complex problems. As a consultant, I bridge these worlds to deliver thoughtful, well-informed solutions.
I approach every challenge with curiosity and rigor—whether I’m treating patients, debugging code, translating nuanced text, or exploring AI.
I am a medical doctor who graduated in General Medicine (1995) and specialized in Nephrology (2009). I am attested in Internal Medicine (1998) and certified in Abdominal Ultrasonic Imaging in Adults (2009).
Areas of Expertise:
I have extensive experience teaching and lecturing in Internal Medicine, Diabetology, nephrology, and related fields. I am also a translator specializing in English-Slovak and Slovak-English medical translation and software localization.
I am deeply involved in information technology, computer science, and programming. My interests include:
I began my medical education at the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice, Slovakia. Since 1995, my focus has been on dialysis and nephrology. From 2013 to 2022, I served as Chief Medical Officer/Head Physician at two dialysis centers in Bratislava.
Born in 1971 in Czechoslovakia, I was raised in Kyjov. My Ruthenian roots inform my worldview. My passions include reading, travel, philosophy, and poetry.

Understanding kidney health and treatment options.
Nephrology is an essential medical specialty that deals with the kidneys, which are crucial organs responsible for filtering waste products, regulating blood pressure, and maintaining fluid balance.
Nephrologists diagnose and manage conditions such as:
The most common form of dialysis. Blood is filtered through an artificial kidney machine (dialyzer) to remove waste and excess fluids.
How it works: Blood is drawn from a vascular access (like an AV fistula), cleaned in the machine using diffusion and ultrafiltration, and returned to the body.
A home-based treatment option. Uses the body's own peritoneal membrane in the abdomen as a natural filter.
How it works: Dialysis solution (dialysate) enters the abdomen via a catheter, absorbs wastes, and is then drained. It can be done manually (CAPD) or with a machine at night (APD).
